O2 sensor troubles!

Alright guys, had my r27 for a few years now.. recently got a bit bored of it so had a full stainless exhaust and de cat and the k tec stage one pack so a map filter and a dyno, the car made 215.6hp which I'm quite chuffed with but I've been told the car needs a new o2 sensor which will solve the lumpy start up and idle. The cars runs fine when up to temperature but until then it's pretty much undriveable. K tec offered me one for £86 +vat then an hour labour, but euro's have the sensor for £54! Just wondering how easy these are to change? It's the first sensor on the system out of the two! Thanks guys! Sorry if this is in the wrong place admin, new to this!

From what i've heard and read........cheap ones on ebay for £30**** arent worth getting. This may apply to the ECP one too. Needs to be a quality part or original. Is the K-Tech one an original Renault part ?

Not sure if this one is post or pre-cat (Bloody cheap for a Bosch item though):

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/0258986615-BOSCH-OXYGEN-SENSOR-LS615-LAMBDA-SENSOR-BRAND-NEW-GENUINE-PART-/181736025585?fits=Model:Clio|Cars+Type:197&hash=item2a504fadf1:g:L0IAAOSwpDdVNpel

If you can find the original part no; you may be able to search around / cross-reference it; and buy it alot cheaper yourself. And really not that hard to fit. Less than an hour i'd say.

*******As an aside; what exactly did K-Tek do to get 215bhp ?

Stainless manifold 421, no flexi pipes or cat, then just a custom map and the ITG panel filter! Ive found a Bosch replacement for £48 from euros but I just cannot find the location ha! I'll get it up in the air later! Thanks

It's my understanding that there are two types of connectors on the sensors a square edge and an oval roughly speaking.

The Oval above this one according to google 8200036544

The square type according to Google 8200590431

So you need to look at the connector and check the length to cross reference a spare.

2008 197 possible lamda numbers Dialogys:
Front 480mm: 7700107433 (£94 approx. price Dialogys) oval type or 8200590431 (£79) square
Rear 400mm : 8200036544 (£105) oval type or 82200590431 (£79) square

Hope this helps but it would be good to know if the connectors are normally oval or square the 172 kept bringing on the engine light and limp mode when I drove smooth little revs on warm days and on wet days with a fair amount of water lying. The clip told me right away that the second lambda heater was not working while code readers just gave me emission fault codes, that's why I bought the clip and why it's best.

Thanks for you information pal, got under the car on a tiny jack in the end and managed to take the old sensor out, to find Euro car parts had given me the wrong sensor!
