My detailing kit.

Just what I've gained over the passed few months. There's a lot that's nearly on its way out so looking to replace them. So looking for other opinions. What's good/crap and what would you replace with?. Car is glacier white.uploadfromtaptalk1394390443341.jpg

TBH, you will get a million different answers. If your happy with the product why change it? Take ultimate compound for instance, its like what £5-£10 depending on where is comes from but for that cost its not a bad product at all.

perhaps add a couple of buckets with grit guards, if your wash mitt is on its way out look at wookies fist mitt. i like EZ Detail brush. Quick detailing sprays and much as a much imo and rainx is still one of my fav products. perhaps look at Valet Pro Bilberry Wheel Cleaner simply because its roughly the same price once watered down if not cheaper and works better and more gentle.

As Mentalpen has said, if you're happy why change?

You will get lots of differing opinions, for example I disagree about the RainX - try a glass sealant like G-Techniq G1 and don't look back

I've also given up on lambswool wash mitts because they like to moult all over my drive, so I use microfibre ones.

Stick to what you're happy with

As above, if the stuff u got works well n ur happy with it then stick with it, Auto glym is pretty good stuff anyway, dont rate the wheel cleaner tho, definitely wanna try valet pro bilberry wheel cleaner, one of the best ive tried imo.

I started off with the AG products as they are readily available (halfords ect) but not a huge fan so trying Autobrite direct products which I'm happy with, all comes down to what you like using so try a few differant things an see what suits your best. There's not really a "right" product to use.

If you dont have foam lance, you should get one. It is so important for swirl free wash process.
And i do recommend you some proper wax, like collinite 915 or fk1000p. Autoglyms are so 90´s.

I've only started to sort the car out, most of this was from a previous car. I have poorboys diamond glaze. Would a wax go under this or on top?

It's fun but I wouldn't say a necessity. A degreaser like Auto Finesse Citrus Power is a lot more effective really, but it'd cost you a small fortune to use it every wash. And you'd still inflict some damage - there is no such thing as a swirl free wash in reality, just minimising the damage.

Glaze goes under a wax mate. A wax or sealant is known as an LSP (last stage protection), so they sit on top of everything else that makes your car look glossy and give some protection from the elements.

Have a look at detailing world if you want some more conflicting opinions
