Walkie Talkie Question

In respect of leisure type walkie-talkies, do all makes share the same channels...in other words, could you use a Binatone set to talk to a Cobra set....I think there is a standard set of 8 channels available generally, but not sure....any advise most appreciated!

Yep you can mate, just use the main channels on the more advanced set as they often have 8 or so main channels with sub channels. Select all the radios to the same number channel and away you go :smile:

Had a set in the office for a while when the phones went down and we managed to stumble upon what we think was a taxi's channel.

A lot of fun was had that day

"Taxi to John o Groats please"

walkie talkies are a great thing for group road trips, easy to keep in contact! and yes they will all work together if they are all on the same channel.

Radios is a must for road trips, assisted overtaking, banter, planning etc. I've been using a Mitex one;

Never had a problem with it. Signal is strong although not as strong as stated by the manufacturer (30km range but i can confirm it is not, especially in the Alps).

Nevertheless this radio never let me or the group down. Its battery lasts forever as well which of course is an added bonus:smile:

We used binatone ones for FCS last year, and they came in so useful. Also they are legal to use on the public highways
