TL4 gearbox....no not another broken one this time (gearbox stripped down)

Sorry to drag up an old thread here, but when I split my box tonight there was a magnet just lying in the casing, is there a specific place for this to sit inside the box?

yes - theres a slot in one half of the casing

look at pictures post 21...
 
[MENTION=29]foxspeed[/MENTION] , any idea if all TL4 bellhousings/clutch shafts are the same? I have a almost brand new one from a 1.2 turbo Qashqai, that is like to give a bash in my 197 and see how it goes. If not, I need a spare bellhousing if anyone has one.

cannot see them being the same :001_unsure:
 
Ollie,i see in your 21# post pic 4 one of the bolt holes are cracked .
Is it that critical?
Edit: i think there is even two or three holes cracked
