Speaker size

Hi all,

Have got some 16.5 speakers with component tweeters. Firstly, will they fit in the front and secondly how do i go about putting the tweeters in? Do i have to take off the dash?

yeah, unfortunatly i have some fantastic infinity reference series speakers but they are 16.5cm, which i'm thinking are quite big for components?
They went into my g/friends old bag o shite, i mean punto, but not the clio. :mad:

So now i'm after some new ones, any recomendations?

My bro has vibe speakers in his 205 which are pretty good.

its 13cm for the front and back, the fronts are components and the rears are coaxial.

What Depth could you have? does anybody have any suggestions on what make or model speakers ?

Fronts are Pioneer TS-Q131C:

Turns out the rears dont fit though. Bought Pioneer TS-E1302 2-Way 13 cm Car Speaker:



The difference between these and the standards is night and day.

Just cut off 2 of the metal tabs mate then they will fit in

Couldn't you fit larger speakers with a bit of fettling?

I've never looked, but there is normally space if you add some MDF rings etc.

when fitting other speakers such as the back speakers, can you still use the OEM radio?

how about these for the front :

^ you could, but you wouldn't be making the best use of them. Ideally they would need an amp and / or a better head unit.
