shakey's 400hp Cup

Today I plumbed the coolant system in:

Fabricated two brackets and fitted a Fiat Panda Header tank in:

The coolant hoses then run along the slam panel to the rad, the smaller top hose is also tee'd into the return from the turbo:

Also the intercooler pipework is now plumbed:

few bits to go now: boost controller solenoid & pressure sensor, fill coolant up, and check everything over the best I can.

Oh and fabricate a heatshield for the turbo

Clio had its first start last night, started first time but felt rough so was stopped, coil packs and plugs swapped from old engine and started today 10mins at 2k and oil dropped again, then new filter and new oil.. another 10mins at 2k, then did a short drive (just 2miles) with nothing over 3k rpm.. fingers crossed

Hope alls gone well. Interested in what fuel system you eventually went with...????

its running the standard system at the moment, but planning to run the stealth in tank, with regulator taken out of the loop, my design fuel rail plus regulator and return to tank oh and the injectors

Might sound daft but what how will regulate the fuel in the tank then??? Also what are your views on running a swirl pot???? Only seen that set-up to date on all the Megs running over 330bhp. If I kept the car, the fuel system is my biggest challenge as the fuel return systems are a little extreme (and costly) for how I want to set the car up. Not to mention how loud the pumps are(!) Ideally best solution for me would be, existing fuel pump carrier, with larger fuel pump and fuel reg.

you won't -the regulator from the rail will keep the pressure where you want it

running a swirl pot and another pump is just an easier way to plumb it, i'll only run this if i have to -its a road car after all..

wired the gauges in today, not all that happy with the colour match of the gauge pod now, looked better before it cured :/ but will do for now..
