200: Service & mot at lookers Renault

Hi my 200 Clio is a 10 plate but only covered 13k miles but its due a service at end of month due to the timescale of previous one as its not reached the 15k it should have so the date has came before mileage anyhow normally I would do this myself but with the car being so low mileage and so new I'm thinking take it to renault just for the bloody stamp.
Any idea how much I'd be expected to pay as the service receptionist quoted me FROM £159.99 so god knows what that would rise to but I don't need an air filter and do not do not want them washing my car like she said as I'd rather do that myself I have the email to copy here if needed and she said they would do a health check but I want an mot anyway so...also check for the latest Renault software.
I asked what oil they used an she said shell helix 5w 40 just don't no what to do as like I say I would normally do this myself but these dealers don't half charge a lot.
Cheers Graeme

Are there any Renault specialists in your area? I'm talking about the likes of K Tec etc. I'm sure they would be less and you'd keep your warranty as they will give a fully itemized receipt. I know i'd rather see a stamp from a specialist than a main stealer. Remember you can extend your warranty as long as it hasn't run out for around £320 a year, well worth it in my book. Also the service schedule for the 200 is every two (yes two) years or 12,000 miles, which ever comes first. I'd also be surprised if a main Renault dealer didn't use Elf oil no matter what the receptionist told me, though Shell would probably be fine.

As for the MoT I can't really advise as our system is different here in Northern Ireland (eg it doesn't need done until its 4 years old).

I'd love to know where you extended the factory warranty for £220, I had to pay £377! I feel trapped into using main dealers for service/mot, as any issues such as gearbox seem to get much better outcomes if it is all Renault.

Forgive me but surely you would rather your pride and joy were serviced and maintained by trained Renault technicians with the correct tooling and diagnostics and using the OE parts and oils? They aren't as expensive as you may think if you explain the work that you wish to be carried out ie no air filter required, no wash/valet etc

Maybe its just me being cynical from the dealerships my cars have been through, but, do the above actually exist?

I'd rather use one of the traders we have on here plus about 3 or 4 others around the country before a renault dealershi7 anyday

Sadly not all dealerships are like yours. You (from my experience) are the exception and most are well piss poor to say the least.

unfortunately you will find that renault dealerships with a good reputation are a bit rare on here :innocent:

I got mine through renaults own website about this time last year for that money, i think i paid 10 months at £24 and when the paperwork came through it had all the correct 'RENAULTSPORT 197 CUP' details on it. i was well happy.

Mine is a 2011 and has done 9000 miles. It's 1st service is due now. I've been given a price by the Renaultsport specialist dealer I normally use under their "fixed price servicing" of £219.16. I thought this was very reasonable as its every 2 years.
Having previously owned a Renaultsport Megane which was a yearly service of the same price i was more than happy. I also make sure they never wash my car and have this written in big letters on the invoice when handing the keys over!

Thanks everyone for your opinions I might look into the extended warranty I no they are trained up I just take a lot of pride in my cars and having paid so much for it i am a little paranoid but they say their work is guarenteed.
sure my car has some sort of decat also but I was assured it would pass mot.
The main dealer for me is Chester roughly 20miles away I live on north Wales coast.

By the sound of it I'd be expected to pay about £200?
