Renault Sport Clio 197 Racing Red

You have to check the bolt! I think you used the standard M8 bolt? It will definitely break! We drilled a bigger hole and used a M10... but it was also broken after one rally. Now I am using a M12 12.9 ...

It broke?

I'll fit a bigger bolt eventually, but it seemed to me there was no excess stress on the lower mount...

Will try and make it bigger when I remove the fog lights so I don't need to remove the bumper twice.

TNX for the tip.

Buy a Megane they said...you'll be fast, they said...:giggle:

Been busy today...I had my intake manifold ported and matched couple of years ago and since I've changed an engine. This one doesn't have a ported cylinder head ergo - the intake on the head and the inlet manifold ports didn't match. Till today.

Cylinder head, "ported" vs stock (the 2 on the right).

"PORTED"

My idea was just to remove that "step" between the ported and matched intake manifold and the cylinder head. Of course, I blocked the passage to the valves so the aluminium residue doesn't enter the cylinder, and the rest I vacuumed with the vacuum cleaner.

Impressions? TBH, my butt dyno says that I have a better throttle response, and MAYBE some more kick at >5krpm.

You are a nut case taking a die grinder to the head whilst fitted to the car!!

Looks like you've gained a fair amount of port area though. As long as gas speed isn't hurt too much for low to mid range, it'll help up top for sure.

Hello

your clio is amazing

but please tell me why 215/40/17 not 215/45/17?
TNX.

Because it's like installing a shorter final drive.

And it'll look nicer when OZ Alleggerita's come (because they look one size smaller due to their design).

Yep, I know.

I've put a sock in every port, used a vacuum cleaner and an air blower afterwards.

Couple of mods left to do on the car this year (if my finances allow me to  ) performance vise (custom intake manifold, head work and a remap). I believe I could squeeze out a 10-15bhp more.
And the next year I'll probably make/buy a lightweight flywheel and that's it for the engine. I believe/hope it'll be as fast as a Megane 275, and that's enough for me.

For now.
