Rumour has it that the R will be released in 2012 and will come in at about £22k. But the GTi will use the 1.4 TSi lump and squeeze something like 190 BHP out of it.

I love the look of the current GTI and the new one, but still wouldn't choose it over the clio.

I test drove a cup edition and it was comfortable but boring and too much body roll. Hence why i got the clio, more of a raw feel.

Yea I can imagine it's not as fun to drive as the clio, but with the power it's got the mpg it's capable of seems very good - probably would consider one if it came to selling up in a couple of years!

I dont think its aimed at clio league.

Build quality will be miles apart from clios.
