Need advice on new front suspension ball joints :(

hi guys first post on so bare with me here I picked up my Clio 197 2 weeks ago, now it needs abit of work to get it back into how it should be, but anyways when I bought the car was told it would need a couple of track rod ends...... had the garage look at it today and it needs a load of ball joints doing spoke to dealers today on the parts I need and there a fortune !!! Basically I need .... top suspension ball joint, and both bottom ball joints, for both sides.
Anyone on here know where you can get aftermarket ones or cheaper than Renault direct

Bottom ball joints can be had separately from Ktec , or Rofag on eBay. Think R sport in Wimbledon sell them as well. @Micah will know

there are some on ebay and as above Ben mentioned..Raptor on here sell some too i think..

Nice one would rarher get some off a member on here if possible, you don't have the link for them on eBay by Amy chance do you Ben??dont really know exactly what I'm looking for where would you guys buy them from if you had choice ...

hmmm, it's not going to be cheap if you need the whole lot replacing and you have to bear in mind that the hub might crack when trying to remove them. A bit tricky that..

I'm not in sync with prices atm but how much is a brand new hub? Someone to correct me if I'm wrong but does the hub come with both the ball joints?

I believe a new hub only comes with a new lower. (?) Thats what i remember from the pics i've seen.

@Big Ben might be able to give us an up to date price on a complete hub unit and what it includes...........

So I can see You can get the top ball joints easy enough ..... but the bottom swivel ball joints you have to buy new hubs ?? Is that correct guys ??

Sorry ignore my last post I see that trying to get the lower ball joints out you can sometimes crack the hub and to replace a hub with a lower ball joint already in is £190 .... that correct ?

Yes that's it. Ben confirmed that the hub only comes with the lower ball joint so you'd still have to buy the upper ones therefore what I suggested is not the best solution price wise..

What's the mileage of your car? Mine is sitting at 71k atm and I've never changed upper ones, are you sure that they whole lot is needed?

Yeh garage have said the whole lot need doing , mines in 101k miles , just fingers crossed they can get the lower ball joints out without cracking the hubs or it's gna get even more expensive

Just spoke too r sport spot on 42+ vat .... spoke to the garage they said i need 3 per side .... 6 in total , 1 top ball joints and 2 Lower ball joints per side and this sound about right ? Just checking as I'm going to order them this afternoon

2 lower ball joints per side sounds completely wrong mate. There's a diagram on here somewhere which shows the hub carrier and all necessary joints. @turkie172

Just looked on that diagram Ben on that thread going to take that to the garage and they can point out exactly which joints are knackered then email that diagram over to r sport and tell them each one I need and make sure they actually do them .....

Hope that helps mate

Where are you based ? It might be an idea to take it to a specialist and get a second opinion. Last thing you want is to be paying for parts & labour that isn't needed.
