My 197 Cup at Castle Combe

Went up to Castle Combe this weekend for the Forge Performance Car Action Day. Great day out with a variety of the cars and minimal amount of 'chav' content.

Following my short lived track session last year (Fiesta in wall brought out the red flags), I said I'd never do another track session at an action day again purely for the amount of accidents and loons out for pub bragging rights, however a chap on Pistonheads said that he had a slot free in a dedicated Skoda session which I felt brought a lesser risk of being taken out.

Castle Combe is a very fast circuit and the Clio was overtaken by many a mapped Diesel Skoda on the straights but as expected excelled through the Chicanes. Really enjoyed my session and hope to get back to another more twisty track once I've replaced my clutch and various bits.

Brilliant pictures, 100% was you that I seen.

Car looks great.

For reason I thought you had a LY 197 so was looking for that haha.

Almost cried a little bit, saw a max powered LY but then noticed the drums on the rear.

Where about were you guys parked?

We were on WR (weekend racer) stand. Was a brilliant turn out with all the track cars etc. Was a proper good stand that had loads of attention.

No idea. Probably about 150 knowing Renault book figures vs actual figures lol.
Pretty sure my cup is nearer the 197. Although would swear blind, after topping up the oil the other day, seams less powerful !!! Dip stick F/ing crap but sure level is correct. Anyway before messing around under the bonnet etc, will get tested at A.J's in Plympton.
