Matched and Polished inlets...an honest appraisal

Fitted today. An honest appraisal....they def make a difference. The car is most def smoother and the car no longer bunny hops down the road when cold. Uncertain about the power gain until remap at end of the month.

If you want to improve your drivability, sound and torque, IMO
V6 airbox
Matched and ported inlets
Exhaust
Remap

All depends on how badly matched they were before.

Everyone will experience different gains and advantages.

Agree and I guess thats the same for most mods. However, as a combination, the other couple of members who went down this route, have all been very happy with the outcome....

great to hear the results mate and I can't wait to see the printout from the mapping session.

Nice inlet colour too!

Do you have any graphs?

Nice results. Can you write the cams specifications?

The cams are schrick 288's:
Intake: 288°, cam lift 6,18 (12,30), for hydr. lifters
Exhaust: 280°, cam lift 5,78 (11,65), for hydr. lifters

I plan to get rolling roaded again at jkm shortly as their rollers are very accurate and also repeatable.

I dont think I can afford all this! plus petrol haha would sound good though!

Where is best to get inlets Matched?
think JAM Sport, K-tech, etc... mine I did myself...

May I ask, what are the specs of the stock cams fitted by RS?
I've been told that the higher the number of degrees, the more the car will shake & rattle @ idle revs.
What is your experience?

Think the standard cams are in the early 260's. It does make a big difference. It doesn't shake and rattle but I do get a slight 'bob' on idle, it's cool tho lol

Power run today without remap....204 bhp. More than happy with that without map. Just need to decide....the what next? Would like Cams but 15bhp for £1000+ plus fuel drop....I'm not sure?
