Knocking noise...??

I get a knocking noise from the engine bay whenever i press or let off the gas in an abrupt manner...anyone had this before or knows what this could be..

I can't take it to the dealers again as they seem to think that nothing is serious enough to give it a look and i will get mad again..

...sounds like an engine mount to me!! Get it checked by an independant specialist if the stealers don't want to know....

Just had it fixed monday first the noise was only there when I accelerated and pushed the clutch quickly. After a few 100 kilometers the noise was always there when I pushed the gas and let it off abrupt. The noise was only there in low-revs.

Told my dealer what I think is wrong (top engine mount) and they checked it. There was no "play" actually when they tried to move it or at least not enough to say it was faulty. They ordered a new one anyway and changed it and the noise is gone :thumbup1:

Thanks a lot guys..
My first move will be going to the ''stealers'' as slime says and hope they give a s***..
If not i'll go to my ''unofficial'' garage even though they won't be able to do anything more if its just an order and replace job...And i will lose the benefit of the one year warranty i have from the dealers..

I have had an issue with Ren before on my Trophy. I took it to a specialist and just asked them to give me a report on what they throught was wrong. Cost £20.....took the report to Renault to prove to them what I had been saying was right....repair eventually done under warranty......

I too had a knocking sensation when lifting on/off the accelerator and thought it was the top engine mounting. The was no real apparent play in it really, so i took it to bits and packed out the 'voids' with rubber from an old engine mounting.
Now its stiffened the mount up a bit and no knocking either....which is nice.

Question

My first post!

I think I could have an issue with this mount - if I grab it and wiggle up and down it has a click to it, but it feels like it's the metallic casing around the mount rather than the bushes themselves - is this normal or should it all be 100%(ish) solid?

thats the cover on the mount whcih crimped around the mount, if loose it rattles bad, i got mine changed under warrantly
