If i remember correctly when i removed my center console the card slot is just a slot to hold your key nothing more, no charging etc etc
The slot does not charge the battery. End of.

The slot does not charge the battery. End of.
Unless the battery within the keycard is rechargeable and somehow they have managed to fit a charger within the key slot (Very Unlikely) then the slot does not charge the battery.
If the battery is not rechargeable i dont think Renault can even put a charger within the slot area because it causes a fire risk (Very very very small risk)
One possible answer is that the card's frequency drifts ever so slightly and when inserted into the slot it re-programmes it?
my key card battery has a life span of 4wks, using ever ready energise batterys, does anyone have this problem
