Help Please!!! Problem with GF's Car!!!

Hi all!

The Mrs has a problem with her C2, when she is driving along there is apparently a squealing/squeaking/whining sound coming from the front left, which gets louder when she turns right.

I think it could be a wheel bearing on the way out, but im not sure.

Ive not heard it myself so i cant comment on the noise, just wondering what people on here might think.

shes going to take it to a mechanic next week anyway, just wondered what it was incase its something simple.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Rich

CV? Could just need a rebuild, my fiancee's old Corsa had this problem. At first it sounded like the tyre was rubbing on the arch. Knocking could also be heard. Wheel bearings usually sound like an aeroplane is about to take off behind you and they're not effected greatly by steering.

Could be the CV joint thats gone, didnt think of that, good call!

reason i thought of a bearing is because the noise gets worse when the the left of the car is under load.

ive heard a bearing as its about to go, just not as it starts to go, wondered if it might start with a squeal, apparently not lol.

cheers mate!

tyre pressures are fine, she had new tyres put on it a couple of weeks ago.

didnt think of bushes either jase, ill get the mechanic to check then next week.
