Gear knob removal

Before I try and twist my gear knob with all mighty force, am I right in thinking it is just threaded on? Or is there a particular way of removing it? Nooby question I know, but I don't want to risk breaking it

You just pull if I recall correctly. Easier if you have it in fourth and sit in the back.

Is it ok to pull it with so much force? What kind of gear knob could I replace it with? Any universal fitting item?

yep..u can get some from ebay..there is one from turkey there for about £40 delivered or u can go for a genuine one for about a £100..

Yeah I thought about that already. I do like the look of them. Was gonna check out alternatives at the same time.
