Front pads and discs dont fit help

This is one EXACT reason that I wont fit parts supplied by customers. The majority of the time there's something or everything incorrect. I'm surprised the garage you're using didn't refuse too.

I see your point Danny, as a garage your bound to feel that way. I'm a service engineer and hate/won't fit parts from other people. But as a customer your always gonna want the best deal, and that usually means avoiding the mark up you (have to) put on.

To be honest you can have that problem enough times when the garage are sourcing parts from a motor factor, so many times brake calipers are changes mid production meaning that two different sets of pads etc. are listed.

Well said that man:smile:

The issue is that when you are supplying discs and pads fitted to a customer then you have a lot more control to sort it out, perhaps procuring the right parts from another source; when you only have the customers parts to fit you potentially waste the labour time that was allocated, waiting for the customer to sort it out. Once the time has been wasted you can't get it back, and it is difficult to charge a customer when you haven't actually done any work, even if it was their own (or their parts suppliers) fault.

I mention discs and pads as they are a classic area where there can often be issues, but it can happen with other stuff too. Sometimes you even get this when buying from the dealer, though it obviously tends to be less common.

brake pads

I have just recieved pads, from next day brakes, i asked for specifically for 2008 clio 197 front pads, i have a filthy opened box with pads no- p68033, and i dont know if it is the correct box with the wrong pads in it.

If a motor factor brings the wrong bits, then they bring me the right bits inside an hour

Most time I get parts in well in advance, or keep stock on the shelf. This is the advantage a specialist has, and the customer gets from using a specialist.....product knowledge
