External Temperature Sensor Issue

Has my 9 month old 200 nearly 4 weeks and I have noticed that the external temperature gauge reads rather high. At 8:00am this morning it was reading 43 degrees centigrade!

I know the sensor is a common problem on the 172/182, is it the same with the 197/200?

Also is this covered under warranty?

Mine always reads high and cools down a fair bit when I drive off.

Maybe something to do with it being housed in a black wing mirror that absorbs a lot of heat?

Whilst I agree it does over read sometimes but unless the op lives in Dubai or somewhere then I doubt it would get to 40+ degrees at 8am!

I'd say there is a problem with it an yes it should be covered by your warranty.
