Exhaust or Remap

Stuck at a crossroads, contemplating either a catback system/full exhaust system or a remap..

I really have no idea which way to go :worried:

At the minute, I have my centre silencer removed which although sounds good, it has a big flat spot :worried:

Also I cant seem to find any price for full systems other than the akropovic, so if anyone can point me in the direct of a decent website it would be appreciated

Cheers

generaly speaking the order goes as follows:
1.induction kit
2.exhaust system
3.remap
there are lots of makes out there...try to contact Fernandez or @Springs and things..

You have a couple of options from us.

1: The Scorpion system comes in either resonated (with centre silencer) or non resonated (without center silencer). The 197 system features a choice of tailpipes too.

2: Supersprint. The Supersprint systems are much higher quality, not discounting the Scorpion here as they are fantastic. The Supersprint comes with many different options.

When choosing an exhaust bear in mind that to get the best out of them especially if going for the non resonated options that a remap is always recommended. Sometimes you do get a flat spot but with it being so low down the rev range you can drive around it. I would however add that the flatspot is worse with a standard desilenced system than one of the Scorpions or Supersprints.

Take a look at our website for further details.

VAT & UK mainland delivery is included in all online prices so no hidden extras in the shopping cart. As a further bonus we also give loyalty points on every web purchase to save or spend with us. If you see it cheaper elsewhere we'll also price match but tbf our prices are very competitive.

Cheers for the help, which of the two exhausts is louder and what tone differnce is there?
Would even the catback give a flat spot?

The Supersprint is louder even though the Scorpion video is louder, filmed inside as opposed to outside for the Supersprint.

Do you stock Oreca?

Fernandez Why is the Supersprint sports cat so fricking pricey? I understand Supersprint use HJS cat's which are the best however I can buy a genuine HJS through Milltek (not their own brand generics) for half the price of Supersprint literally! Only issue is if I use a Supersprint cat the fitting and bore size obvioulsy matches my current Supersprint centre... how much wiggle room you got on price mate?

That's just down to the quality I guess. Supersprint is in a different league to Milltek. I'll look at the pricing in the morning and see what I can do on the cat for you.

No it's not a Milltek cat (they do their own too though of course), it's they just happen to be the UK importer for HJS. HJS are basically the best as far as cats go, and I've read that Supersprint actually use HJS cats (not confirmed though). HJS supply WRC, DTM teams etc with their FIA cats in the 100cpsi range. Their tuning 200cpsi range you are looking at £3-400 for the cat only. But then you need to faff with lamba bosses, etc etc - But at 800 for the supersprint it's just taking one imo!

If you can let me know that would be great, Cheers

They are HJS 200 CPSI. I suppose Supersprint do have to add the pipe work etc and make a profit.

Remap, sorry, but car already has a good sound track inside. Remap drives so much better, but an exhaust sounds better in the Macdonalds car park. You have already removed the centre box, just get it mapped.

If you map it now and decide to get an exhaust/indication kit/de-cat later, you will have to get it mapped again.

I don't have the money to do it all at once, so I've gone for an induction kit, then exhaust; going to take the cat out and get it re-mapped next year.

Perfectly drivable with a ITG Maxogen + Scorpion cat-back; as it is now. It sounds so much better; and not just in McDonalds either.
