De-cat? Worth doing?

Chaps

Getting my gearbox done in the next couple of weeks, whilsts it's on the ramp I'm thinking of fitting a de-cat pipe, got Miltek system cat back at the mo

I have seen the pipe for £55 (bargain) off ebay Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=330815846608

A couple of questions:

Does it cause engine management light to come on for emissions?
Is there any noticable improvement in power?
Does it make the car too loud?
It says in the ad thst a stage 2 remap is req, is this really needed?

Bit of a novice at this performance stuff  any advice appreciated

A couple of questions:

Does it cause engine management light to come on for emissions? No the pre cat is enough to deal with emisions
Is there any noticable improvement in power? Debatable, maybe with a cat back but haven't seen any side by side comparisons
Does it make the car too loud? I've got one with a ktec cat back, didn't run it before but it will be louder with it. I use my for work an take clients around an don't have any complaints
It says in the ad thst a stage 2 remap is req, is this really needed? Not necersary but to get the best gains it could be worth it. Would say if you have any other plans like an induction kit an larger throttle body then wait till you have done everything.

Can of worms.
Some people get away with no light coming on, some people get the light on.
Some people need remap, some people don't bother.
Some people get a flatspot, some people don't.

BUT, it sounds great
