Creaky steering

It appears I have developed a creak when turning the steering wheel, occurs at low speeds. Possibly more so when I turn left. Anybody else had a similar issue? If so what was the problem and was it a relatively easy fix? I have a warranty on the car so I am hoping that whatever is causing it can be resolved with minimum cost. Any advice is welcome

Sounds like a swivel joint, common fault . There are a few threads in here about them .
Will have to get it checked properly to confirm though.

Aye, does sound like a ball joint issue. Less than £200/side to fix at a specialist - main dealers/inexperienced garages tend to charge more because they do the whole assembly, rather than the ball joint itself. The part can be obtained separately, hence the cheaper price at a specialist.

Although if it's under warranty, that shouldn't be a worry

Have you taken a left hander at speed and found it a bit concerning? That will be your O/S lower ball joint.

I haven't noticed anything strange to be fair and I am usually fairly observant on things like that. Got the car booked in a garaged noted the lower ball joint could be causing the issue. Thanks for the replies chaps.

Don't let them fleece you saying you need an entire new hub carrier... You can just have the ball joints fitted.
