Crappy window/door seals

Has anyone had them sorted? Ren sorted mine today, iv got home and they are falling off! lol Good work guys..... are they all just crap stick on things or is this some quick fix they have tried to do?

Exactly the same thing happened to mine! I don't know how, but Ford managed to fix mine good and proper when I had the paintwork done 2 weeks ago. They've done a really good job in it, I don't think it'll ever come off now! Just need to try and keep the seal from splitting now.

I think what they have done is packed it out from the back with some double sided sticky. Might be worth you doing it yourself! Lol!

Yeh i think your prob right, il have to take them off before thye fall off and try sticking them on with something decent. dropped doors sorted now at least.

had one of mine replaced and now it falls off all the time. They didnt remove the old glue off the window 1st, so there is no clean edge for it to stick to

That's why I'm not gonna take mine to get done. Especially as they'll more than likely split again anyway doesn't seem to let any water I n either

Mine is okay at the moment, the whole thing cost me a fortune in fuel though as they "had to take it to a window specialist"

Not only that, but they had to rag the ******** off it and make the car go from 28mpg to 14mpg.

What nice guys.

lol, very poor! all i can think is that they havent cleaned the back of the glass right.
The seal is a "P" shape, and the adhesive strip is on the flat section next to the round bit, it just sticks to the back of the glass. Im going to take them off, get some alcohol wipes or something and try to clean behind the glass, then re-apply and add something behind the seal to sort of push the sticky bit to the glass.

Precisely why I never leave my car with the Renault Dealer.....if they've been driving a customer car on the limit they need sacking....

I know, everytime i take my car to them now i check what its like when i get back. if its seriously out I'll go in and have a word.

I didn't realize it was so low until the fuel beep came on and i was like WHATT!!

Thats really out of order!
Think i would of gone mental.....
As i was picking my car up a lady came in nearly in tears saying how her car had been in for work doing and they had it 3 days, when se got it back there are chips and scratches all over the front end....
needless to say i had a good look at my paint to make sure it was all ok....

I also asked if they cleaned the cars after the service and was told they did then i asked them to please not clean it and i think she thought i was mental! but after 8 hours of hand polishing i dont want some dirty gritty sponge rubbing on my paint! lol

I'm the same, they cleaned mine when i took it in the first time, did an horrific job so evertyime i go in i say not to clean it

They look at me like i've gone mental, lol.

Dont get me started about these stupid things, had them changed twice, they'll just fallen out again. And the last time they were changed was a nightmare for verious reasons :worried:

I have just taken mine off this lunch time, im going to mount some thicker rubber to the back off them (to push the sticky bit to the window).
iv got some rubber gasket stuff i used on my house windows, so il try that and update you....il try take some pics of what i do to assist.

I have just rung them to tell them they have fallen off, she said i will just check with the workshop.
im told the parts came in late, so they had to get the job done fast!!!!!
First off.....as if your telling me that you idiots!
Second, why not ring me and tell me you need to keep it in to do it.

Im having them do it again, she says they need it for a full day, what a set of goons....
im still going to try fitting these ones myself....

Harrats in Wakefield.....tut tut

Mate the dealers are all the same. The blokes in the workshop just do as they're told and fit them how they're supposed to. But they don't do any prepreation work when they are being replaced, the glass needs to come out so they can do a decent job. But it would take them ages and they can't be arsed, plus they'd probably need a glass specialist on site! As I say, I think you will be best doing it yourself using something to pack it out at the back, like you said some double sided ruber sticky stuff.

I did mine myself and they're perfect, when you pull the old ones off you have to make sure you remove all the old adhesive from the rear of the window, I scraped it off with a stanley knife blade which worked well. As long as they have clean glass to bond onto they stay on perfectly
