Cambelt quotes

I dropped my Clio 200 off at Renault tonight to have it looked and mentioned about needing a cambelt change so they gave me a quote of just over £1000 just wondering how reasonable this is and what's the best price people have got?

I believe you can find places that'll do it in the region of £400 - 500. Mine needs doing at the end of the year and i refuse to pay anything over £500

I would say that is far too expensive. It is a job that should only be undertaken by Renault/RS specialists, however as others have said, you can get it done for half that.

Depending where you are based there may be a specialist who can do the work for cheaper than what you've been quoted.

I'm based near Cambridge but don't mind travelling the person on the service desk said that they take the whole engine out and it's quoted as 6 hours labour

Roughly 2hrs to DDC Doncaster, great prices at around the 350/400 mark, can double check on their website!

I paid around £740 for a cambelt change at a specialist. I also had the waterpump, dephaser pully and aux belt kit done too. Labour was £60 per hour.

lol at them saying they take the engine out!

It really isn't an engine out job, I should know as I did mine on the driveway!
