might be worth checking the cabin/pollen filter
Just spoke to Renault Worcester and they have said that they have done all the checks that they should have done and everything is running fine. They also said check the pollen filter but it's only 7 months old and has only covered 3,300 miles (although I guess miles don't make too much of a difference?)
I have found the same thing with mine. Travelled in my Aygo with A/C on about 2 and was nicely chilled lol then later got in the clio but even with it wacked up on 4 it wasnt really doing much...
Yup, the air con on 2 with the Aygo (out of 4) is just nice. It's not me being paranoid then!
Mines out of manufacturers warranty and I'm encountering the same problem.
The previous owner had the air con re-gassed at the start of the year but it doesn't seem to have done anything.
Will be good to hear what renault say
Tamz
Well, having spoken to them, the lady spoke to the managing director who also happens to have a Clio 200 and he said "the air con isn't that good in mine either", which the receptionist apologised. Basically saying "yea, the aircon in this car is crap. Sorry about that".
like foxsppeed has said check pollen filter has more than often can be missed when serviced, another thing with aircon is the ecu locks the pump out when gas perssure has got too low and requires renault clip to reset the system.
Can't say as I'm sure they checked this, will double check later. I've already contacted Renault UK, and I will be taking this to an independent Air con specialist.
The Aygo's cabin is a much smaller place than the Clio cabins surely, so comparing how well aircon circulates doesnt really count does it considering the much smaller volume of "hot air" inside the Aygo?
Indeed it is smaller, but not by so much so that the Aygo can cool you down on half the fan speed settings than the Clio's at full whack?
Also, my parents Merc C CLass has been tested as a comparison last night, a cabin much, much bigger than the Clio's, and that cooled down quickly and cooler than the Clio's air con could ever hope to reach.
Mine did this, and I changed the thermostat over and it fixed it. Does your engine temperature run at a normal rate and not low?
The engine temperature sits he needle a little below half way on the guage. Is this normal?
