Was £271 lol!

New brake fluid, air con re-gas, all new filters, new 0w40 oil, engine flush to clean out the old oil.

Aside from the oily hand marks in two places on the inside, i'm happy

Redy for me and wife to do the massive South of England to the North of Scotland journey Friday night! (total of about 2-2.5k miles in the one week, including a trip to Liambo land  )

How much would Renault want for all this work?

Did you have the air-con recharged and engine flushed though :wink:

Canna wait till Scotland mete

Thats flippin good!

Stoopid Volvo costs £260 for just a basic oil service and overcheck

wow mike £271 for second service! why did it need a engine flush and re-gas?

£135 i paid and im sure a re-gas and flush wouldnt cost as much again! was this a main dealer?

No not at a main dealer, they wanted over £300!!!

Engine flush because of the oil grade change and I guess that I wanted to be certain as it is the first service I have had done as owner. Three years old never had an aircon re-gas - it wasn't as cold as our other car, so hoping the re-gas will improve that.

Plus we have done more miles in the last 6 months, than the car has done in 2 and a half years, with another 12k miles in the next 6 months in temperatures from -16 in Scotland to +40 in south west France - that WILL be fun loL!!!

And i'm a mug too, never barter or argue with anything, well most things!

Mine just had a big service by Renault,

But i still had to do the whole brake set up myself as they only change the oil imho these days.

dealers are very very poor, I would say my car was unsafe brake wise,

O and I can tell that Renault did not take any wheels off on the service either.

just think though with the engine oil flush - there will still be flush left in the engine as there are areas were the oil doesnt drain from - and to be honest - modern engines bit of a waste of time/money

a/c on clio3 are known to be poor for being "not cold enough".....but if done correctly should not do any harm and probably do it some good ie new quantity of oil added

yea normally you would use 5w 40 but it does say you can use 0w 40 but it obviously depends on you driving and where your driving it?

Large variance on temperature and driving!

-16 in Scotland next week, up to +40 in France, and the Nurburing!

Next time will be 5w40!

I dont get Oil :confused1:;/? I doubt I'll bother taking mine to main dealer come service time, GF's dad uses a local Renault specialist who seems to know his onions.

I changed the oil on the 182 the other week and ran some oil flush through, I gotta say I actually noticed a difference. Tbf I put some 0-40W castrol sport edge in aswell but it defo made a difference
