So whilst no trade off in terms of torque, the BHP increase for the bike per litre is absolutely mammoth.......

yes but at nearly double the revs - would be gutless in a 1300kg car until the revs were top of the range...

having said all that the one big fundamental difference - bikes dont need to meet emission standards of cars so you can run them dirty

That's very true. I run mine every few weeks in the garage though winter the place is toxic after 5 minutes!
