197/200 roof panel

Guys
Anyone know if this is steel or aluminium?
According to streamline it weighs 20kg.
If it is steel, has anyone thought about replacing with a non carbon lightweight panel?
Would probably have to be custom built alloy...just wondered as im trying not to justify the carbon 1. Althou that will save 15kgs!

Buy the carbon one, you know you want too!

Must be aluminium. Steel would not flex like the roof does and would way shed loads and rust etc.

I think it is steel.... any manufacturer that uses aluminium on any of the exterior parts is loud about it, never heard anything from the renault about the aluminium roof on a 197/200.......

The bonnet is alu isn't it? Plastic wings must save a fair bit of weight.

Hmm..in which case il investigate the cost of an ally one then. Must be able to reduce weight by half or two thirds without spending silly money i reckon.

Just get a magnet and see if it sticks, if it does its steel, if not its an aluminium alloy To my knowledge though the roof and bonnet are both steel.
