Get to 15 i hopeIn all honesty - I will buy another mk3 eventually, maybe a meg 250 but no other renaults interest me. Yes it will be tracked but it'll be more of a fast-road set-up.
I need to drive it flat out and you can not do that on public rds Jimmy one of my cars was on track within 48h of getting itTrackdays aren't everyone's cup of tea, nor are they affordable to every owner of an RS. Also, for me who uses (and needs) my car as a daily, I can't risk something happening to my pride and joy when blasting around a track. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to give it a go one day, but for me personally there'd be too much at stake to be able to fully enjoy it and appreciate it.
I bought my RS because it's nice to own a special car; something that's different to the majority of cars on the road. It's fun when I want it to be, and practical when I need it to be.
I see what you're getting at though Kev, however we all buy our cars for different reasons - some want to keep them as garage queens and barely turn a wheel during the year, others want to thrash them round their favourite circuits as often as they can. Different strokes for different folks
Good topic.
Mines my daily tooI almost gave into temptation before curborough to swap to a mk4 as mines mainly used as a daily, something abit more modern, comfy and slightly better for fuel efficiency and that would preferably stay off track. I fell back in love with the mk3 after curbs and planned to do some more track days as it’s so enjoyable to drive..
A lot of what @Jimmy has written is also relevant with myself hence not regurgitating a lot of it and having people’s other views etc

Have to agree with Jimmy to a certain extent.
I owned my R27 for nearly 5 years and it didn’t see a track during my ownership. I then bought the Megane and knew I would do a few track days, purely because I couldn’t use anywhere near the cars potential on the road so it seemed a waste just dailying it with no track day fun. Now I’m back in a Clio and can’t wait for Spa later on this year. I think once you have been bitten by the Track Day “bug” it’s hard to get away from!

In 2009 I was overtaken by a black 197 on the M20, it was a thing of beauty as the first thing I saw was the wheel arch vent. I couldn’t believe it was a Clio! 7 years later I finally had my 200 which I put so much money into but was too afraid to track it.
