Wishbone part?

Hiya,

I need to replace my wishbone and also part number 1 on the schematic below. I found the wishbones already from RPD, but can I clarify with you guys the exact name of the part which I need.

It's part number 1 in the above schematic. Would i
be correct in saying that the part I need is this one below:

The "lower hub pivot"? Or is it the "lower arm suspension ball joint"

Or if not either of those can you point me in the right direction please?

It will be lower arm suspension balljoint, that one is threaded in rather than pressed in.

If you have bought the wishbone brand new from RDPD it will come with a new ball joint (part 1) on it already.

They just arrived and you're right! Thank you. Had ordered the ball joint from ktec but I'll get that sent back when it arrives

Lower swivel joint?



It is the joint on the left or right side of the photo - not the one on the middle.

If you ask a non-specialist Renault garage they will tell you that you have to buy the half part of the knuckle with the swivel joint inside it. If you ask anyone else you can buy the lower swivel joints online, remove your old swivel and press in a new one, or ask a Renault specialist garage to do it for you.

Which of the two options though?

That's right. Often referred to as the lower swivel.
I'd go for the cheaper one personally. I've ran them on track for many years with no issues.

I would advise replacing the upper whilst you're at it though. But that's your choice isn't it

Just as a sidenote: There's special tool from Renault to removed the ball-joints of the wishbones. It's basically a big nut with four teeth that fit into the rectangular grooves you can see in @R20BTG's last photo. IIRC somebody here has made a make shift one out of a normal nut because the Renault tool is quite expensive.
