Buy a jail broken one off ebay, I had the first gen Apple TV and just received my jailbroken one, so much better.

Quick update on this.....

I've now bought one and wish i'd done it sooner! I've set my PC up in the loft and use that as a media server to the Apple TV. Ok, so I have to convert my movie files from MKV to MV4 but it only takes 30 mins or so.

Are the jailbroken ones really worth that much more? 2nd gen jailbroken apple tv on ebay are £150+ but you can get a gen 3 brand new from apple for £99

Are they really worth it?

When you say free films, is it streaming? New stuff or old like netflix is full of?
