What is this?

Hi guys
I was fitting a ktec induction kit over the weekend, when I removed the original airbox I noticed this black hose with a white cap hanging down can anyone tell me what this is for? My instinct says gearbox breather pipe? Also have I put it in the right place? Seemed like the logical position.

Also I’ve noticed since that selecting 2nd, 4th or 6th gear is a bit notchier then it used to be. Is it possible that because I’ve moved this pipe that the gear oil level is now incorrect?

Yeah thats the gearbox breather.

Moving it shouldn't have effected the gearbox level or affect gear changes.

Thanks mate. Maybe a disturbed the linkages when installing the induction kit

So I had a look under the bonnet today and found that one of the aircon hoses was not clipped on properly and was catching the linkage.
Problem solved.
