Weight of stock hood, or bonnet, as you call it : )

Hi all,

My hood, while in decent shape, certainly has its share of nicks and paint chips. I came across this fiberglass option which they claim is only 1-1.2 kilos.

I know our stock hoods are already tiny and weight savings may be minimal, but has anyone tried to weight their stock hood? If no one knows, I may yank it off and find out for myself one afternoon.

This is for a 2007 Clio RS, by the way.

Stole this from facebook, however its only half the story as once you add aerocatches the weight of my CF bonnet is 3.2kg, cheaper ways to lose a kg!

Whoa! Yes, negligible. Plus, I don’t want to lose the usefulness of my windshield washer nozzles.

On another note, is this a heat shield, pictured below? I thought about removing that because it’s starting to look “raggidy” but I certainly don’t want to do that if it’s a heat shield and prevents everything from melting into oblivion.
