He is now checking other things and then he says he will take the aux belt off and see what happens.
It's the same noise that can be heard in Adams third video.
He has also spoken to a bloke he knows who works at Renault and the tech hasn't heard of it before either.
No mate ever from I've owned it its done it (only owned it for a year and a half). When the car was under warranty it made the noise I asked and was told its find after two visits to the garage.. Cam belt is due to be changed next July so I'll wait until then to find out if it disappears. Its an annoying noise though
i think the mod was new/modified tensioner pulleys
when mines cold it has a slight whirring noise but its only for a few seconds then goes off - engine speed related so i put it down to the cam belt or aux belt
some fords have had issues with the aux belt running out of line - with it being a poly-v belt it can be a rib out on one of the pulleys and this mis-alignment causes noise
the only other way is extreme.... fit another belt kit......
hope its found and sorted as even if its not doing any "damage" it should not make any noise as such
He had two fault code readers and a friend of his had one and he couldn't get it to connect with any.
The emissions light has gone now.
He said it was prob just as the plugs were changed.
He mentioned the solenoid and said the beat way to check it was to find a mate with a 197 who would let me try their solenoid.
Can I run the engine with the solenoid unplugged?
Will it just mean the vvt won't give me the kick at 5k.
Won't damage anything will it?

they just run lumpy and have a poor noisey idle - you might get the engine warning light on
connecting the obd2 - did you do it with the engine off?
unlock car - put card reader in slot - press and hold start button until your hear the steering lock click and the ignition lights come on (dont press brake pedal) - this puts the ignition on correctly so the obd2 can pick up the power feeds etc
