What's the difference between wax and polis:lol:

in short polish buffs the surface to a shine where as a wax put a protective layer on the surface.

Yeah, polish and then wax or sealant over the top.

Polish corrects blemishes in the paint, wax or sealant seals the corrected surface. Basically.

Wax varies in price enormously. From £10s to £1000s for a pot! For a beginner try something on the cheaper side of things...and preferably something that can be applied and taken off easily. (I made this mistake last weekend, had a friend give me a pot of £7.99 Simoniz Orignal wax - it took FOREVER to put on and buff off!)

Have a look at the dodo juice range. Very good stuff there and not obscenely priced.
