Vent surround + Clock surround painting

Anyone on here sprayed these themselves with success?

As always I'm being a bit of a timmy and not quite getting the outcome I get when spraying them.

I've been using wet and dry 280 then 400 to get a nice smooth finish then plastic grey primer followed by gloss black plastic spray.

Still seem to get and uneven finish on the black when spraying from a distance and onto a smooth surface.

Might have to get them done by SS if the next attempt fails.

Easy matey,

Go to your kitchen and find a plastic spatula that is sturdy and doesn't just bend.

Get it around the edges of the clock surround like you are trying to get underneath a pancake then it should just pop up with a bit of force.

Now I want pancakes.

Great shout, pancakes first though, the missus won't see the logic if I break it using it to remove trim from my car.

It's easy to do but hard to get a professional finish. If you want to have a go without ruining your own then I have a spare one for sale

He says this now! I have struggled to get a good finish on it I am going to have to get it professionally done!

Trying to spray the clock surround and vent surrounds but I can't get a decent finish on them. Might have to speak to SS or someone with a higher IQ than me.
