Just thought I'd post this as I know it's a common issue with like no straight answer... If anyone has had the vague steering issue, I had it yesterday after having my rack replaced along with traction light flashing at me round left hand bends
Mechanic took it back in today, had it back on the ramp and checked and tightened everything up involved in changing the rack, then reset the steering angle (I guess using clip?) and in test drive it drove as it should.
Not sure which part of all that sorted it but we think resetting/calibrating the steering angle sensor was what sorted it
Just if anyone out there has this problem now or in the future, hoping this will help as it's very scary when your wheels feel detached from your steering!
