looking at getting some hankooks for my next tyres, as ive seen good reports on them ive heard of the V12s and R-S2s but which is the better trye to go for, any experience of either would be appreciated.

i dont know ive heard people use hankook V12s and hankooks R-S2s. on hankooks site it doesnt state that R-S2 are good in the wet, but it does for the V12s

The V12 is a normal road tyre but the RS-2 is a normal if a bit soft road tyre using a race construction with less tread.

The RS will, in the dry, grip more than a standard road tyre but less than a track tyre. Pay off being worse in the wet.

The RS-2 would be my tyre of choice there. I have used them and they are good. However if you just want a normal road tyre I would stick to what renaultsport recommend and get conti SC3s

i got the v12 on te front and when i drove it on the triangle run last year i didnt rate them will put conti back on next time thats just my opinion
others like Arran love them

I have Hankooks and they are fine, just after another set. Good in wet and dry. They seem to have softer sidewalls as the road noise is less and there seems to be slightly less sharpness to the steering but not in a bad way. They have lasted slightly longer than the Conti 3s by about 2,000 miles. The Contis gave me about 10,000 these coming up to 12,000.

My mate has just bought an R26 with V12's all round.

I really rated them when he gave me a wee shot of it. They coped well with the power and torque and even allowed it to cock a wheel going round a roundabout.

rs2 arent good in the wet i should know......:bat:

but seem really good in the dry but they are only 5mm of tread so not really that good a value!

if you use it all the time v12 are a good tyre

if like me its just a weekend toy and "mainly" used in the dry then the rs2 would be better (just remember they are only 5mm of tread)
