Upgrade projectors to HID

Hi everyone,

I've had my 2009 Clio for a few years now and recently I've had to do a lot more late night, bad weather driving on crap roads.

It has the projector headlights with corning bulbs and I just can't see a bloody thing. I've tried standard bulbs, osram night breakers and some Philips LED's, the latter 2 were a little bit better but not good enough. I also had the headlights polished up too.

Any recommendations on what bulbs or HID kit to go for, or any threads about this I can follow?

Cheers.

197 or 200? If it's got cornering lamps I'm guessing it's a 197 with Xenons (usual tell tale sign is if you've got head lamp washers).

If so, are you sure the level sensors are working properly and its not pointing the headlights to the floor? If the sensors failed they tend to do a silly up/down thing when you switch the lights on and the full beam doesn't flick the lights upwards...

Actually neither, it's a 1.6 GT with standard halogen H1 bulbs, no head lamp washers and no auto leveling either. It has the manual adjust dial which is on 0.

I'll attach a photo

best solution is the double h7 non projectors with osram led h7 smart , since two weeks street legal in Germany

Would be a shame to lose the better looking projectors but swapping out the whole headlight might be the best option and probably much cheaper too.
