Unable to reset window switches

After working on the car and leaving the battery disconnected for several days my windows no longer auto-close and auto-open. I've tried holding the switch in the closed and open position to no avail. Any tips?

Did you ensure the window was all the way up or down before pressing and holding? It moves inch by inch as the window position needs resetting. It needs to be either fully up or down to establish the position.

All the way up and down untill the motor is straining. I might try disconnecting the battery and try again.

on fords (later) models if you change the battery you have to reset the battery monitoring sensor with a ford ids computer or several functions like this do not work! just a thought mate that it might need reset with a renault computer ?
