Track Day @ Curborough

Just a few pictures from a track day earlier this week at Curborough, organised by some friends of mine on Pistonheads.

The turn out was fantastic, and the 197 is now in the top 10 of lap times recorded at these events so far! Very impressed, punching well above its weight...

The M3 was quick (had a passenger lap in it), but the M6 sounded savage! That V10 engine with a custom-made exhaust!

Yeah these are regular! Once a month or so at the moment, but fully booked for the next 2 months. I know they're trying to get more days because the demand has been huge. At the moment they're on a Wednesday and cost £60 per car.

Would anyone be interested in a Clio197/200 club track day?

Thing is your nan could set a hot lap in a GTR, stick her an Atom and it'd be a different story.

The GTR and Atom are both fast cars, but it's got a lot to do with the weather. The Atom hasn't got anywhere near the same traction when it's a tad greasy, but he was pushing it this time so credit to him! Had a ride in both and they're both great fun

The course is tight and twisty, but the extra torque helps when coming out of the tight corners. It's surprising how well the Imprezas do on this track too - the Wagon that got a 1'32 apparently only cost around £700!

We did a 'Fiesta LX Challenge' at the end of the day, obviously just stealing the idea from the 'Reasonably Priced Car Challenge' on Top Gear, but got to say it was a lot of fun! That's a completely different leaderboard

I was definitely expecting a bit of your typical 'chavved-up' Nova when I heard it was coming, but to be honest this one was rapid (as the times show). Obviously fully track prepped, and had a redtop engine conversion.

The 1M driver had very little track experience, I attempted to show him the racing lines but it went badly, as Chris (Cjh-200 on here) recorded me going sidewards haha...

Well done on the times... Right behind some true heavyweight mercs. The nice thing is, that track times can always get better, so go out and beat some 63's next time! :thumbup:

The next days are 13th March and 24th April, but I think there are only 2 places left on the later date at the moment. I'll let you know when extra dates are added.
