Any ideas what this plug does as I’ve no longer got it plugged in and everything is still working????

Seems to be wiring for something that the car wasn’t spec’d with. There’s a similar redundant loom plug under the plastic trim above the pedals. I wouldn’t worry about it.

What car is yours a cup or keyless has it got climate control as I think it is for the sunlight radiation senor which would be for climate control option but yours is a 200 so the electrics are different to the 197. It also might be for the Renaultsport monitor option or satnav I think if the car is a keyless car they use the one top spec loom for the dash that's why climate control etc is not that dear an option.

It’s a 2011 200 FF Cup

I thought perhaps it was the Rs monitor

It is not for an RS Monitor. I put one in my Cup at the weekend and that wire does not plug in to the RS Monitor. I still have that cable clipped in to the plastic trim without being connected to anything.
