Thefts to order.

....the 21 year old was sent down for 18 counts of similar offences....!!! The young lad spent his 13th birthday in a YOI....

Upstanding members of society who have a lot to contribute then?

Clearly the parents shouldn't have been allowed to breed.

My housemates an MMA fighter, my car shares the garage with his gym equipment. I think thats all the security i need right there

Id just thought I'd inform you all as a heads up, obviously these are professional and if they want to take your car they will.

A colleague at work has an Audi A3 Sportline. He lives in Mansfield and was woken by a couple of blokes thumping on his front door at 1am in the morning. He told them to do one whilst his misses was on the phone to the police. They ended up lobbing a plant pot through the front door, got his keys and off they went. Police found it around 30 mins later parked up in Notts. This was around a month ago.

I read something on another forum early about a car theft and breaking the door down and stealing the keys.

Id rather have my keys in sight than be threatened or attacked for them and Id rather never see the car again as it'd never be the same.

Has got me thinking about security though. although if they leave my drive anymore than 2mph the bumper will be ripped off! Lol and to go that slow id hear them!!

There was some footage on crimewatch the other day were someone was trying to steal a car, they were in the drivers seat.

The owner was smashing hell out of the drivers window with some kind of stick/bat trying to get at the thief but was completly naked.

I leave my keys in the middle of the table in the lounge overnight.
If they break in then they are welcome to my car....aslong as they don't come near me or mum I dont care!

It's a jungle out there, it really is...Thankfully I'm on the safe side, private and secure drive in, CCTV in operation and 24/7 porter with all the monitoring equipment in front of him. If they manage to pull something off under such conditions then so be it.

Was woken up this morning to a phone call to a friend who had his R32 Golf stolen last night :worried: he awoke to find his car keys gone and his car and then about 2 hours later a text from a friends stating her boyfriends VXR stolen in the same way she also informed me that 7 other cars were stolen from the Mansfield / Nottingham area that night as she was informed by the police. Four of the cars stolen were picked up on speed cameras and cctv doing in excess of 100-140mph all with the same MK4 Golf in red following with fake plates, police had stated to both that these cars are being stolen to order and that the suspected are using 3 Mk4 Golfs to track where these cars are parked over night break into people's homes and steal the keys.

I've read up and found that Liverpool, birmingham and Derbyshire have also had spouts of large cars thefts on one night over the past month 2 cars have been Renault Clio 200s so just a word of warning to keep your keys away and doors and cars locked up safe.

you mind if i copy these details and post them on my usual sites?

Think wiring the car with Semtex would be overkill?

I got into work yesterday to find our RCZ lying with the window smashed and the 19" alloys gone. Load of damage to the car but even with security cameras covering the car you don't see anything.

Bad times means people do stupid thing for money. People have no respect these days

Sod that, if they want my car that bad they're welcome to it. After a family members car was stolen then recovered full of guns I was glad we'd gone out on the piss when they kicked in his door and turned his house upside down. At the end of the day your insured for car theft, not for getting shot

I have a colleague at work who is from a nice suburb of Greater Manchester. His neighbour had a bright and shiny red Mitsubishi Evo IX on the driveway and he was woken in the middle of the night by a couple of thugs who burst into his bedroom, dragged him out of bed and pinned him against the wall...Shaking with fear, he handed the car keys over but he still got kicked in the nuts and his car was never seen again!!! What sort of sick world have we created...?

Like I said in my earlier post, what would I have done if I woken up the night my Scoob was taken....? I didn't sleep properly for weeks and I still take my keys to my bedroom every night..... :-(

At the end of the day what can you do? Not allot tbh, most are armed with a weapon of some sort and unless you have a bat and are able to make the first hit count then you are screwed.

Police cut backs means less police patrolling given the scum bags even more opportunity to do this, and for the police to tell people to sell their cars if they don't want to be a victim is just damn right insulting and makes me angry.

No offence to anyone up country but they are starting to ship the ****ers down this way now and crime is starting to increase in certain areas that used to be peaceful communities to live in, mostly the councils are move people from Manchester this way because they cant be homed up there as they cause to much trouble:@
