Suspension: how does this look?

Looking into the front arches when having new tyres fitted I noticed this

Anyone know what this part this is and why it has been bent this much out of shape?

It's part of the shock, not sure on the exact name or why it's there but I'm sure they're supposed to look like that?

If I'm looking at the right part of the pic it's the bit where the bottom of the spring sits. It's supposed to be at that angle to hold the bottom coil as it twists upwards.

just look at your other ones to see if they are all the same?

can i assume your looking at the bit of metal with the single hole it the middle of it?



If so that will be were your drop link would be bolted too if the shock was fitted to the other side. The shocks can be used on both nearside and offside

If the shock was fitted to the other side it would be the other one that would look bent back when that one is paralel for the drop link
