Stubby aerial to suit the cup spoiler

Hi all,

I have modified my original aerial to suit my new cup spoiler.

Once the boot lid is up it sits about 5mm from the spoiler so no contact is made at all. So far the radio signal seems okay with no problems BUT ive not really travelled far so im sure there will be times when its terrible but im not overly fussed about the radio anyway.

How did you do that then?

Just cut my original aerial down but first removed the little rubber stop which is on the end so I could re-fit it again after.

I practised on another aerial first which I had lying in the garage from when I had my Mini.

I liked the finished look though its better than the crappy Ripspeed one I picked up Halfords...........that went straight back.

Thanks, hopefully the signal will hold up but as I said its not the end of the world for me as I have my iPod connected up and a CD player as well so plenty of tunes to listen to.

Have you been able to test the signal quality yet?

I also got the ripspeed one which ive had on over a year now, signal is crap, I have now put the original aerial back on (cut down like vivid white has done) and . . . . . .

Its just as crap. Only plus point is it looks better so its staying on

It was worth a try.
