Steering 200T

I have a 200T non-cup, sometimes I think the steering is a little vague.

It seems to be a little loose around the dead ahead. At lower speeds I can point the wheel, take my hands off and it will stay pointed in that direction. Say 30-45 degrees. Are these cars particularly sensitive to camber? Any problems with the steering racks like the 197/200? It only has 1200 miles on the clock.

Maybe it's all in my head. Tyre pressures are all fine etc.

Thanks in advance!

how does it feel at higher speeds?

Try to do fast left - right turns with engine turned off and card inside socket. Even new rack might be knocking a little and it's normal until steering feel loose and knocking is more pronounced.

I had a new rack after a few months , car felt like it drove like it was going round a 50p
then about a year ago steering felt very vague and you could feel a slight knock , turned out the front anti roll bar bushes were shot , Renault fitted new bushes and it certainly tightened up the car
