Soft Front Brakes

Never thoght the front brakes where very good / sharp
Took the wheels off and pleanty left on the pads
Finnaly had enough and bought some EBC pads & Pins (thank you Mr Pink)

Fitted today
Found out why the brakes where soft
The pad material was braking up and comming away from the pads

So if you have soft brakes, change them before they fall apart

if you do a yearly brake check this doesn't happen and it saves you money...

Looked down at the pads in place, no problems, pleanty left
Only found out they where breaking apart when the pads came out
Do you take the pads out annually and look at them

yep!

complete front and rear strip - giving a visual is practically worthless

That is impressive
Got a bit worried about the rears now
Thought the front was just a bad batch, maybe its heat build up from braking that has done it.

What other areas do you do an annual check on

done plenty of front brakes on clio/meganes and its common for them to fall apart...

rears usually start to seize up due to dirt/brake dust etc

I always did a yearly service and brake strip (front & rear) plus wheel/tyre rotation

I also used to clean the air box out as it collects in the bottom of it

brakes are the major problem if left for long periods

Will get my back brakes checked
Will clean the airbox this week
New tyres all round soon
