Scratching/Grating noise from engine bay

Not sure if this is a problem or if it's normal for a 200 - I get a high pitched scratching/grating noise from the engine bay which starts around 6000 RPM and continues as revs are increased. Also when coming off the power once in this rev range, I also get a sort of clicking noise which also sounds a bit like a waste gate/dump - any ides what it might be?

Can anyone else with a 200 let me know if their car is the same before I take it to a garage for investigation?
