Umm I not sure, but I think the angles you have taken the pictures at put it out of perspective and it looks very odd. I think you need to bend down and take the pictures, then give us another look. Is it painted or vinyl? Looking to do my silver bits in black, but also thought red.

Second and third picture looks good, the first as said is a bad angle to take a picture and makes it look out of place. But if you like it what does it matter, its your car!

I thought about vinyl, but went for paint. I see you are in Cumbria. I am a member of The borders sports & performance owners club. We will be at Solway Vehicle Enthusiasts Club show on the 9th and 10th May in Dumfries if you want to see the car first hand.

Yep just down the road from you. Did you take the bits off to get them painted? If so how easy is it?
