RPM signal for shift lights - Clio Sport 197 (2008)

Hi.. New member here! I have searched the forums but cannot find any info that helps.

I'm installing some shift lights in my Clio 197 (2008) and need to get a square wave RPM signal. I attempted to wire into one of the coil on plug packs, but that hasn't worked.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!
