Renault Servicing

Hi guys, just popped in to book the car in for a service. I asked what oil they put in and they said SOLARIS 5w-30.. I'm fairly certain that's not what's in the car right now, I think there is 5w-40 Triple R Carlube... Isn't 40 better? Should I just do the service to keep FSH and swap the oil for the nanodrive 5w-40 I've got waiting for the car?

I'll just swap the oil out... The service is free anyway. I had burning oil smell when ragging the car before I changed the oil when I originally had the car, probably ****ty service from renault again. Bang the nanodrive in there then.

If I go down the forged route in the next 1-3 years, I'll be looking at new pistons and rods anyway so will be a practically new engine.

As above, they should only be using the elf 5w40.
